Strength exercise
Barbell Pin Press
How to do it
- Set the safety pins of a power rack to a height just above the chest and rest a loaded barbell on top of them.
- Lie on a bench beneath the bar and grip it slightly wider than shoulder width.
- Lift the bar cleanly off the pins and hold it steady over the chest before beginning.
- Lower the bar back to the pins and let it rest fully, releasing all tension for a true dead stop.
- Press the bar from the dead stop by driving through the chest and triceps until the arms lock out.
- Reset the bar fully on the pins between repetitions rather than bouncing off them.
