Strength exercise
Band Push-up (Banded)
How to do it
- Loop a resistance band across the upper back and anchor an end under each hand on the floor, setting up in a plank position.
- Place the hands slightly wider than shoulder width, fingers pointing forward.
- Brace the core and glutes to keep the body in a straight line from head to heels.
- Lower the chest toward the floor by bending the elbows, then press back up against the increasing band tension, working the chest and triceps through the top range.
- Inhale on the way down, exhale pressing up, keeping a controlled tempo despite the added resistance.
- Avoid letting the hips sag as the band tension builds near lockout; keep the plank line rigid throughout.
