Strength exercise
V-Sit
How to do it
- Lie flat on the back with the legs extended and the arms extended overhead.
- Brace the core and simultaneously lift the torso and legs off the floor.
- Reach the hands toward the toes at the top and pause there, balancing the V position on the sit bones rather than flowing straight through the rep.
- Hold the balance for a beat while the hip flexors keep the legs locked in the raised V shape.
- Exhale as the body rises into the V and inhale as it lowers back toward the floor.
- Lower under control without letting the legs or torso drop suddenly, avoiding using momentum to swing back up.
