Strength exercise

L-Sit (Parallel Bars)

How to do it

  1. Grip parallel bars at shoulder width and press up to a support position with the arms locked out.
  2. Lean the torso slightly forward and press the shoulders down away from the ears to stabilize on the bars.
  3. Brace the core and draw both legs straight out in front of the hips, feet together and toes pointed.
  4. Raise the legs until they reach parallel to the ground, keeping the knees locked as the hip flexors drive the lift.
  5. Hold the raised position for a controlled count while breathing steadily, then lower the legs to complete one repetition.
  6. Keep the lower back from rounding as fatigue builds, letting a hollowed core carry the position rather than the neck or shoulders.
