Strength exercise

L-Sit (Floor)

How to do it

  1. Sit on the floor with legs extended and palms planted flat on the floor just outside the hips, fingers pointing forward.
  2. Press down through the palms to lift the hips and legs off the floor, straightening the arms fully.
  3. Hold the legs together and extended forward so the body forms an L shape with the torso upright.
  4. Brace the core hard to keep the pelvis level and prevent the lower back from rounding under load.
  5. Keep the hip flexors active to sustain the leg height and avoid the knees dropping toward the floor.
  6. Breathe in short, controlled breaths, and avoid shrugging the shoulders up toward the ears, a common fault that shortens the hold.
