Strength exercise
TRX Y-Fly
How to do it
- Grip the TRX handles overhead and lean back from the anchor with arms extended, body forming a straight line from head to heels.
- Set the feet shoulder-width apart and brace the core to keep the torso rigid through the movement.
- Pull the handles up and outward at a diagonal until the arms form a Y overhead, thumbs rotating up and back.
- Keep the arms straighter than in the T or W fly, since the Y pattern works through a longer lever with lighter resistance.
- Exhale as the arms reach the Y position, then inhale while slowly lowering back to the starting lean.
- Keep the ribs down and avoid arching the lower back to reach the Y position.
