Strength exercise
Dumbbell Rear Delt Row
How to do it
- Hold a dumbbell in each hand and hinge forward at the hips until your torso is near parallel to the floor.
- Let the dumbbells hang below your shoulders with a slight bend in your elbows and brace your core.
- Row the dumbbells up and out to the sides, flaring your elbows wide rather than tucking them to your ribs.
- Squeeze your posterior deltoids at the top of the movement along with the latissimus dorsi and biceps.
- Exhale as you lift, pause briefly, then lower the dumbbells under control back to the starting hang.
- Keep your torso angle fixed and steady throughout the set; avoid standing up partway through the pull.
