Strength exercise
TRX W-Fly
How to do it
- Hold the TRX handles overhead and lean back at a steady angle, feet planted shoulder-width apart in a straight line from head to heels.
- Brace the core to lock the plank position before initiating the pull.
- Pull the handles in toward the ribs while driving the elbows down and back until the arms form a W shape, bringing the shoulder blades together.
- Keep the elbows close to the body during the pull rather than flaring them wide like the T-fly.
- Exhale through the W pull, then inhale as you extend the arms back to the overhead starting position with control.
- Avoid shrugging the shoulders toward the ears at the top, which takes tension off the upper back.
