Sumo Squat
How to do it
- Stand with feet set wide, well outside shoulder width, and toes turned out 30 to 45 degrees.
- Brace the core and keep the chest lifted before initiating the squat.
- Push the hips back and bend the knees to lower straight down between the legs, tracking the knees over the toes.
- Descend until the thighs are at least parallel to the floor, feeling the quadriceps and glutes load.
- Drive through the whole foot to stand back up, squeezing the glutes at the top.
- Keep the knees from collapsing inward on the way up.
