Strength exercise

Seated Cable Row

How to do it

  1. Sit at the cable row station with the knees slightly bent and feet braced on the platform, gripping the handle with both hands.
  2. Sit tall with a flat back and draw the shoulder blades back before starting the pull.
  3. Pull the handle toward the lower ribs, driving the elbows straight back to engage the lats, biceps, and core.
  4. Brace the core throughout to keep the torso still and resist rotating.
  5. Extend the arms back out slowly, allowing a full stretch through the lats without letting the shoulders round forward.
  6. Keep the torso from leaning back excessively to help the pull.
