Strength exercise
Cable Row (Rope)
How to do it
- Sit at a cable row station with feet on the platform and knees slightly bent, gripping a rope attachment with a neutral grip.
- Set your torso upright and brace your core before pulling the handle toward your body.
- Pull the rope back toward your torso, separating the ends apart as your elbows pass your ribs.
- Squeeze the latissimus dorsi and biceps at the end of the pull while the shoulders stabilize the movement.
- Exhale as you pull, hold the contracted position briefly, then extend your arms forward under control to stretch out.
- Keep your torso still through the pull; avoid rocking backward to add momentum to the row.
