Strength exercise

Cable Single Arm Row (High)

How to do it

  1. Set the cable pulley above shoulder height and stand side on to the machine, gripping the handle with one hand.
  2. Set a staggered stance and brace your core to resist rotation as you begin the pull.
  3. Pull the handle down and back toward your ribs, driving the elbow down and back past your torso.
  4. Contract the latissimus dorsi and biceps fully at the end of the pull while your free arm stays relaxed at your side.
  5. Exhale as you pull, pause briefly, then extend your arm back up toward the pulley under control.
  6. Keep your torso facing forward throughout the rep; avoid twisting toward the machine to help finish the pull.
