Strength exercise

Cable Row (Wide Grip)

How to do it

  1. Sit at a cable row station and grip a wide bar attachment with an overhand grip well outside shoulder width.
  2. Brace your core and set your torso upright with a slight forward lean before starting the pull.
  3. Pull the bar toward your upper abdomen, letting your elbows flare out to the sides rather than tucking in.
  4. Squeeze the latissimus dorsi, biceps, and forearm flexors as the bar reaches your torso.
  5. Exhale through the pull, hold briefly, then extend your arms forward under control to complete the stretch.
  6. Keep the wide grip fixed throughout the set; avoid letting the elbows drop and turn the movement into a narrow grip row.
