Cardio exercise
Rowing Machine
How to do it
- Sit on the rowing machine and strap your feet snugly into the footplates, then grip the handle with both hands at shoulder width.
- Slide forward to the catch position with knees bent and arms extended, shins close to vertical.
- Brace your core to keep your spine steady as you begin the stroke sequence.
- Push through the legs first, then lean the torso back and finish by pulling the handle to your ribs, working the lats and biceps through the finish of the stroke.
- Exhale as you drive and pull, then inhale as you extend back out to the catch to recover.
- Avoid collapsing the sequence into one motion; keep a clear order of legs, then body, then arms on every stroke.
