Strength exercise

Band Row

How to do it

  1. Anchor a resistance band at chest height and step back until there is tension, holding one end in each hand.
  2. Stand with feet shoulder width apart, knees soft, and hinge slightly forward from the hips.
  3. Brace the core and pull the band toward the torso, driving the elbows back past the ribs.
  4. Squeeze the shoulder blades together at the end of the pull, feeling the lats and biceps do the work.
  5. Exhale as you pull the band in and inhale as you extend the arms back out under control.
  6. Keep the torso still throughout the row; a common fault is using body momentum to yank the band instead of pulling with the back.
