Strength exercise

Band Pulldown

How to do it

  1. Anchor a resistance band overhead and stand facing it with feet shoulder-width apart, holding one end in each hand with arms extended above the head.
  2. Set a firm grip on the band and keep the chest lifted.
  3. Brace the core to keep the torso upright as the arms begin to move.
  4. Pull the band down and out toward the hips, driving through the latissimus dorsi and finishing with a slight bend of the elbows that brings in the biceps.
  5. Exhale on the pulldown and inhale as the arms extend back overhead with control.
  6. Avoid leaning back or shrugging the shoulders up toward the ears at the start of the pull.
