Strength exercise

Ring Dip

How to do it

  1. Jump or press up onto a pair of gymnastic rings until the arms are fully locked out, rings turned out under the shoulders.
  2. Cross the ankles and keep the legs together to help settle the rings and hold the body still.
  3. Bend the elbows to lower the body, letting the rings rotate further outward as the shoulders drop below elbow height.
  4. Keep the torso leaning slightly forward through the bottom so the chest and triceps brachii share the load evenly.
  5. Press back up by driving the rings inward and extending the elbows fully to return to the locked support.
  6. Reset the ring turnout and body position before the next repetition, rather than letting the rings swing between reps.
