Strength exercise
Push-up (Hindu)
How to do it
- Begin in a downward dog stance with the hips lifted high and the hands and feet firmly on the floor.
- Shift the weight forward by bending the elbows and lowering the head toward the space between the hands.
- Sweep the chest low and forward in one continuous rocking motion until the arms straighten and the chest lifts.
- Finish with the hips low, the chest up, and the shoulders open in an extended position.
- Reverse the sweep smoothly back to the downward dog start to complete one rep.
- Keep a steady, unhurried rhythm throughout and exhale as the chest sweeps forward.
