Strength exercise

Push-up (Diamond)

How to do it

  1. Get into a high plank position with the thumbs and index fingers touching to form a diamond shape under the chest.
  2. Keep the body in a straight line from head to heels, with the core and glutes braced.
  3. Lower the chest toward the hands by bending the elbows straight back along the ribs.
  4. Descend until the chest nearly touches the hands, feeling the emphasis load the triceps and inner chest.
  5. Press back up to full arm extension, driving through the palms.
  6. Keep the elbows tracking close to the body instead of flaring out to the sides.
