Strength exercise
Pull-up (L-Sit)
How to do it
- Grip the bar with an overhand grip slightly wider than shoulder width and hang with arms fully extended.
- Raise both legs straight out in front of you until your torso and legs form an L shape, and hold that position throughout the set.
- Brace the core hard to keep the legs elevated while you pull your chest up toward the bar.
- Drive the elbows down and back, engaging the lats first and finishing the pull with the biceps as your chin clears the bar.
- Exhale on the pull up, then inhale as you lower back to a full hang, keeping the legs raised the entire time.
- Keep the toes pointed and legs together rather than letting them drop, which keeps the L position consistent rep to rep.
