Strength exercise
Pull-up (Around the World)
How to do it
- Grip the bar with an overhand grip slightly wider than shoulder width and hang with arms fully extended.
- Brace the core and pull your chest up toward the bar, engaging the lats through the initial pull.
- At the top of the pull, circle your head and shoulders around the bar in a smooth, continuous arc rather than pulling straight up and down.
- Complete the circle and let the pull finish on the opposite side of where it started, finishing with the biceps.
- Exhale as you pull and circle, then inhale as you lower back to a full hang.
- Keep the circular path wide and controlled, alternating the direction of the circle between reps or sets.
