Plyometric Push-up

How to do it

  1. Start in a plank position on the floor with hands slightly wider than shoulder width.
  2. Set the feet together or hip width apart, forming a straight line through the body.
  3. Brace the core and glutes before initiating the descent.
  4. Lower the chest toward the floor, then press up explosively so the hands leave the floor entirely and land back at the same starting spot, working the chest and triceps through the rapid extension.
  5. Inhale on the way down, exhale sharply during the explosive push off the floor.
  6. Avoid landing with stiff, locked elbows; cushion the landing with a quick bend before resetting.
