Strength exercise
Overhead Press (Seated)
How to do it
- Sit on a bench with back support, holding the weight at shoulder height with your feet flat on the floor.
- Set your grip just outside shoulder width and keep your wrists stacked over your elbows.
- Press the weight straight overhead until your arms lock out, working the shoulders and triceps.
- Lower the weight back to shoulder height under control, keeping your torso against the bench support.
- Exhale as you press up and inhale as you lower back down.
- Keep your ribs down throughout the press rather than arching your back off the bench to finish the lockout.
