Dumbbell Shoulder Press

How to do it

  1. Sit on a bench with back support, holding a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height with palms facing forward.
  2. Brace the core and set the shoulder blades down and back before starting the set.
  3. Press both dumbbells overhead at the same time, driving through the shoulders and triceps until the arms are straight.
  4. Rotate the wrists slightly inward as the dumbbells near the top for a natural lockout path.
  5. Lower the dumbbells back to shoulder height over two counts, keeping the elbows under the wrists.
  6. Keep the lower back flat against the bench rather than arching to finish the rep.
