Strength exercise
Neck Bridge (Side)
How to do it
- Lie on one side with the lower leg bent for a stable base and the top leg stacked or slightly staggered in front for balance.
- Rest the side of the head on the mat and press the forearm into the mat to help lift the hips into a side bridge.
- Raise the hips so the body forms a straight line supported through the side of the head and the base foot.
- Hold the position with the sternocleidomastoid controlling a small tilt of the head away from the mat.
- Keep breathing steady throughout and avoid letting the hips sag toward the floor.
- Lower the hips back down and turn to repeat the same steps on the opposite side.
