Strength exercise

Neck Bridge (Front)

How to do it

  1. Kneel on a mat and lower the body forward until the forehead rests on the mat, arms bent for balance at the sides.
  2. Walk the feet back and lift the hips so the body forms a long bridge supported through the front of the head and the toes.
  3. Keep the hands lightly touching the mat near the head, using them only for balance, not to bear the load.
  4. Rock a small amount of weight forward across the forehead, letting the neck flexors control the tilt through a short range.
  5. Keep the breathing steady and the motion slow rather than bouncing into the position.
  6. Shift the weight back off the head and lower the knees to the mat to complete the rep.
