Strength exercise

Muscle-up (Ring)

How to do it

  1. Grip a pair of gymnastic rings and hang with the arms fully extended, turning the rings out slightly at the bottom.
  2. Pull down and back on the rings, driving the elbows past the ribs to bring the chest up toward ring height.
  3. As the chest reaches the rings, roll the wrists forward and shift the body weight over the hands to begin the transition.
  4. Press down through the rings to straighten the arms, finishing the movement with the chest and triceps brachii as the body rises into a support position.
  5. Keep the rings pressed outward and level so they do not tip or drift as the body passes over them.
  6. Lower back down through the same path to reset for the next repetition.
