Flexibility exercise

Lat Stretch (Side Bend)

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and interlace your fingers overhead with palms facing up.
  2. Keep the arms extended and the shoulders away from the ears.
  3. Lean your torso directly to one side without rotating the hips or shoulders forward.
  4. Lean only until you feel a stretch along the side of the torso and lat on the stretched side.
  5. Breathe slowly and hold the position for 20 to 30 seconds on that side.
  6. Return to center with control and lean to the opposite side.
