Strength exercise
Lat Pulldown Machine (Underhand)
How to do it
- Sit at the machine with the thighs locked under the pad and take an underhand grip on the straight bar, palms facing you.
- Set the hands roughly shoulder width apart and lean back slightly from the hips.
- Pull the bar down toward the upper chest, driving the elbows down close to the sides of the torso.
- Squeeze the lats and biceps together at the bottom of the pull.
- Extend the arms back up slowly to a full stretch while keeping the shoulders down.
- Keep the chest lifted throughout and avoid leaning back excessively to move the weight.
