Strength exercise
Inverted Row
How to do it
- Position yourself underneath a sturdy bar set at hip height and grip it with hands just outside shoulder width.
- Walk your feet forward until your body forms a straight line from ankles to shoulders, heels on the floor.
- Brace your core and glutes to keep your hips from sagging as you begin the pull.
- Pull your chest up toward the bar, driving your elbows back and squeezing the latissimus dorsi and biceps.
- Exhale as you rise, pause briefly with your chest near the bar, then lower back down under control.
- Keep your body rigid from head to heels throughout; avoid letting your hips drop below the line of your shoulders.
