Hand Release Push-up

How to do it

  1. Start in a plank position with hands slightly wider than shoulder width on the floor.
  2. Set the feet together or hip width apart, forming a straight line through the body.
  3. Brace the core and glutes before lowering.
  4. Lower the chest fully to the floor, lift both hands briefly off the ground to release all tension, then replace them and press back up, working the chest and triceps through a full dead stop range.
  5. Inhale on the descent and during the hand lift, exhale pressing back up to the start.
  6. Avoid rushing the release off the floor; pause long enough to remove all momentum before pressing.
