Strength exercise
Front Raise
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand in front of the thighs with a neutral or overhand grip.
- Keep a slight bend in the elbows and brace the core to keep the torso still.
- Raise both dumbbells straight out in front of the body to about shoulder height, driving through the front of the shoulders.
- Pause briefly at the top before lowering.
- Lower the dumbbells back to the thighs with control, inhaling on the way down and exhaling on the raise.
- Keep the movement strict and avoid swinging the torso or using the hips to launch the weight upward.
