Strength exercise
Band Front Raise
How to do it
- Stand on the center of a resistance band with feet hip-width apart, holding one handle in each hand at the thighs.
- Set a slight bend in the elbows and brace the core to keep the torso still throughout the movement.
- Raise both arms straight in front of the body to shoulder height, leading with the anterior deltoid.
- Keep the wrists neutral and the palms facing down as the band tension increases through the top of the range.
- Lower the arms back down under control for the same count, resisting the band the whole way.
- Exhale on the raise and inhale on the descent, avoiding the common fault of swinging the torso to generate momentum.
