Strength exercise

Band Front Raise

How to do it

  1. Stand on the center of a resistance band with feet hip-width apart, holding one handle in each hand at the thighs.
  2. Set a slight bend in the elbows and brace the core to keep the torso still throughout the movement.
  3. Raise both arms straight in front of the body to shoulder height, leading with the anterior deltoid.
  4. Keep the wrists neutral and the palms facing down as the band tension increases through the top of the range.
  5. Lower the arms back down under control for the same count, resisting the band the whole way.
  6. Exhale on the raise and inhale on the descent, avoiding the common fault of swinging the torso to generate momentum.
