Strength exercise

Cable Single Arm Front Raise

How to do it

  1. Attach a single handle to a low pulley and stand side-on to the machine, holding the handle in the far hand.
  2. Brace the core to keep the torso square and resist rotating toward the cable.
  3. Raise the working arm straight in front of the body to shoulder height, isolating the anterior deltoid one side at a time.
  4. Keep the free hand on the hip or at the side to help monitor torso stability during the rep.
  5. Lower the arm back down under control before switching sides after completing the set.
  6. Breathe out on the raise and in on the lowering phase, avoiding the common fault of letting the hips twist to help lift the arm.
