Strength exercise

Dumbbell Front Lateral Raise

How to do it

  1. Stand holding a dumbbell in each hand in front of the thighs with palms facing the body.
  2. Set the feet hip width apart and brace the core to keep the torso from rocking.
  3. Keep a slight bend in the elbows and raise both arms straight out in front to shoulder height.
  4. Lead the lift with the front of the shoulders, stopping once the arms are level with the shoulders.
  5. Pause briefly at the top, then lower the dumbbells slowly back to the thighs.
  6. Control the tempo throughout and avoid using the hips to swing the weights upward.
