Strength exercise
Dumbbell Front Lateral Raise
How to do it
- Stand holding a dumbbell in each hand in front of the thighs with palms facing the body.
- Set the feet hip width apart and brace the core to keep the torso from rocking.
- Keep a slight bend in the elbows and raise both arms straight out in front to shoulder height.
- Lead the lift with the front of the shoulders, stopping once the arms are level with the shoulders.
- Pause briefly at the top, then lower the dumbbells slowly back to the thighs.
- Control the tempo throughout and avoid using the hips to swing the weights upward.
