Strength exercise
Cable Triceps Pushdown (V-Bar)
How to do it
- Stand facing a high pulley with a V-bar attached, gripping the angled handles with a neutral grip and elbows pinned to your sides.
- Brace your core and set a slight forward lean, keeping the upper arms still against your torso.
- Press the V-bar straight down until your arms fully extend, keeping your wrists in a neutral position as you drive the movement through the triceps brachii.
- Let the bar rise back toward chest height under control, keeping the elbows pinned throughout.
- Exhale as you press down and inhale as the bar returns to the top.
- Avoid flaring the elbows out to the sides; keep them locked against your ribs for the entire set.
