Strength exercise

Cable Concentration Curl

How to do it

  1. Attach a single handle to a low pulley, sit or kneel facing the machine, and brace the back of your working arm against your inner thigh.
  2. Take the handle with an underhand grip and let your arm extend fully toward the pulley so tension loads the biceps at the bottom.
  3. Brace your core to keep your torso still and stop yourself leaning back as you pull.
  4. Curl the handle up toward your shoulder, keeping your elbow pinned against your thigh so the biceps do the work through the full arc.
  5. Exhale as you curl up and inhale as you return to the stretched position under control.
  6. Avoid yanking your torso backward or letting your elbow drift forward, both of which let the shoulder take over from the biceps.
