Strength exercise
Cable Bicep Curl
How to do it
- Set the cable machine's pulley to the lowest position and attach a handle of your choice, then stand facing the machine with feet hip width apart.
- Grip the handle with your palm rotated up and your arm extended toward the pulley.
- Brace your core and keep your chest tall so the cable's tension does not pull you forward.
- Curl the handle up toward your shoulder in a steady arc, keeping your elbow pinned at your side and contracting through the biceps.
- Exhale as you curl up and inhale as you extend back down, keeping the cable taut through the bottom.
- Avoid letting your shoulder roll forward to finish the rep; keep the movement isolated to the elbow joint.
