Strength exercise

Cable Bicep Curl (Bar)

How to do it

  1. Attach a straight bar to the low pulley and stand facing the cable machine with feet planted hip width apart.
  2. Take a shoulder width grip on the bar with palms facing up and elbows close to your ribs.
  3. Brace your core and keep your torso still, resisting the pull of the cable forward.
  4. Curl the bar in a fixed arc up toward your chest, keeping both elbows locked in place and driving the contraction through the biceps.
  5. Exhale through the lift and inhale on a slow, even lower back to full extension.
  6. Avoid using a fast, bouncing tempo; keep each rep at the same controlled speed on the way up and down.
