Strength exercise

Cable Chest Fly

How to do it

  1. Set both cable pulleys to chest height and stand centered between the towers, gripping a handle in each hand.
  2. Step forward slightly to create tension, keeping a slight bend in the elbows and one foot staggered ahead for balance.
  3. Open the arms out to the sides in a wide arc, feeling a stretch across the chest.
  4. Bring the handles together in front of the chest, squeezing the pecs at the point of contact.
  5. Control the return to the stretched position rather than letting the cables snap the arms back.
  6. Keep the elbow bend fixed throughout so the chest, not the arms, drives the movement.
