Strength exercise
Barbell Preacher Curl
How to do it
- Sit at a preacher bench with the upper arms resting flat against the angled pad and grip a loaded barbell with palms facing up.
- Curl the barbell up toward the shoulders, keeping the upper arms pressed firmly against the pad throughout.
- Squeeze the biceps hard at the top without letting the elbows lift off the pad.
- Lower the bar slowly until the arms are almost fully extended, stopping just short of locking out.
- Exhale while curling up and inhale during the lowering phase.
- Avoid bouncing the weight out of the bottom position to keep tension on the biceps.
