Strength exercise

Band Rear Delt Fly

How to do it

  1. Anchor a resistance band at chest height in front of you and hold one handle in each hand with arms extended forward.
  2. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, soft knees, and a slight hinge forward at the hips.
  3. Keeping a slight bend in your elbows, pull your hands apart and back in a wide arc until your arms are in line with your torso.
  4. Squeeze the posterior deltoid and upper back at the end of the movement before slowly returning to the start under control.
  5. Keep your torso still throughout, exhaling as you pull apart and inhaling as you return.
  6. Avoid shrugging your shoulders up toward your ears as you pull the band apart.
