Strength exercise
Band Rear Delt Fly
How to do it
- Anchor a resistance band at chest height in front of you and hold one handle in each hand with arms extended forward.
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, soft knees, and a slight hinge forward at the hips.
- Keeping a slight bend in your elbows, pull your hands apart and back in a wide arc until your arms are in line with your torso.
- Squeeze the posterior deltoid and upper back at the end of the movement before slowly returning to the start under control.
- Keep your torso still throughout, exhaling as you pull apart and inhaling as you return.
- Avoid shrugging your shoulders up toward your ears as you pull the band apart.
