Band Overhead Triceps Extension

How to do it

  1. Anchor the band underfoot or low behind you, then raise both hands overhead gripping the other end.
  2. Position the elbows close to the ears with the upper arms stationary, forearms bent behind the head to start.
  3. Extend the elbows to press the hands upward against the band's resistance, working the triceps brachii through a full range.
  4. Keep the upper arms fixed in place, isolating the movement at the elbow joint.
  5. Exhale as you extend up, inhale as you lower back to the starting bend under control.
  6. Common fault: avoid letting the elbows flare outward or the lower back arch to assist the press.
