Strength exercise
Wrist Extension (Cable)
How to do it
- Attach a strap or bar handle to a low cable pulley and sit on a bench with your forearm resting along your thigh and your palm facing down.
- Grip the handle with your wrist hanging just past your knee and press your other hand on the forearm to keep it pinned still.
- Brace your core and lift the back of your hand upward into wrist extension against the cable, driving the movement with your forearm extensors.
- Squeeze the top of the forearm at full extension, then let the extensors lengthen under control as the wrist lowers back down.
- Exhale as you lift the hand and inhale on a slow, controlled lowering against the cable tension.
- Keep the motion isolated to the wrist and avoid rocking the torso or lifting the forearm off your leg to move the weight.
