Strength exercise
V-up
How to do it
- Lie flat on the back with the arms extended overhead and the legs straight together.
- Brace the core and simultaneously lift the torso and legs, reaching the hands toward the toes.
- Aim to form a V shape at the top with the body balanced on the glutes.
- Keep the knees locked and let the movement be driven by the abdominals rather than momentum.
- Lower the torso and legs back to the floor together with control to complete one repetition.
- Keep the lower back from slapping the floor by controlling the final inches of the descent.
