Strength exercise

Ulnar Deviation

How to do it

  1. Sit holding a light weight in one hand with the forearm resting on a table or the thigh, palm facing inward.
  2. Position the wrist just past the edge of the support so it can move freely up and down.
  3. Brace the forearm and tilt the hand upward toward the little finger side, leading with the wrist.
  4. Lower back down past neutral toward the thumb side only as far as control allows.
  5. Exhale as the wrist tilts up and inhale as it lowers back down.
  6. Move slowly through a small range, avoiding swinging the weight with the elbow or forearm.
