Strength exercise
TRX Hip Press
How to do it
- Lie on the back with the heels placed in the TRX foot cradles and arms resting flat on the floor for support.
- Bend the knees to roughly 90 degrees and set the feet hip width apart in the straps.
- Brace the core and press the heels down into the straps to lift the hips off the floor into a straight line from shoulders to knees.
- Hold the top position briefly, keeping the ribs drawn down rather than arching through the lower back to reach it.
- Lower the hips back to the floor under control, exhaling on the lift and inhaling on the descent.
- Keep the straps from swinging side to side; a common fault is letting the feet drift apart, which destabilizes the core through the movement.
