Flexibility exercise

Torso Twist

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with the feet hip-width apart and the arms relaxed or lightly bent in front of the chest.
  2. Engage the core and rotate the torso to one side, leading with the shoulders while keeping the hips facing forward.
  3. Rotate back through center and continue to the opposite side in a smooth, controlled rhythm.
  4. Feel a stretch and release through the obliques and core with each rotation while keeping the knees soft, breathing evenly throughout.
  5. Continue rotating side to side for 10 to 12 controlled repetitions.
  6. Slow the movement and return to a stationary, forward-facing position to finish.
