Strength exercise

Toes to Bar

How to do it

  1. Hang from an overhead bar with hands slightly wider than shoulder width and arms fully extended.
  2. Brace the core and set a slight hollow body position before starting the movement.
  3. Drive the legs upward while keeping them straight, curling the hips to bring the toes up to the bar.
  4. Engage the lats to keep the shoulders active throughout rather than passively hanging.
  5. Exhale as the legs rise and inhale as they lower back to the starting hang.
  6. Lower the legs under control, avoiding relying on an uncontrolled swing to substitute for core effort.
