Strength exercise
Straight Arm Pulldown
How to do it
- Stand facing an overhead anchor point with feet shoulder width apart and knees softly bent.
- Grip the attachment with both hands slightly wider than shoulder width, arms extended and elbows softly locked.
- Brace the core and hinge forward slightly at the hips to set the starting posture.
- Pull the arms down in a wide arc toward the thighs, driving through the lats while the biceps hold the elbows steady.
- Exhale as the arms sweep down and inhale as they return under control to the overhead start.
- Keep the elbows straight throughout, avoiding bending them to turn the movement into a row.
